The Drake University Summer Music Institute will offer three great courses in June and June 2017. Each course provides practical strategies for teaching more effectively, an assortment of teaching materials for immediate use, and opportunities to teach with the guidance of course faculty. Courses offered include:
•Orff-Schulwerk certification, Levels I and II, June 19-30
•designed for general music teachers
•taught by Tim Purdum, Aaron Hansen, Alan Purdum, and Drue Bullington
•course fee is $700
•Kodaly certification, Levels I, II, and III - July 10-21
•designed for general and choral music teachers
•taught by Barbara and Tom Sletto, Kris VerSteegt, and Sandy Miller
•course fee is $650
•Step-by-Step Inspiration with Choral Songs and Bel Canto Solfeggio - June 26-29
•This course was developed from our highly successful “Step-By-Step Bel Canto Solfeggio” class and will use a cooperative learning format to help teachers master the three-step (in the air, from the board, from the page) process while emphasizing beautiful tone and expressive singing.

•course fee is $325
Drake graduate (EDMA) is $110 per credit hour; staff development credit is $35 per credit hour. On-campus housing is available for $30 per night, plus a required $15 linen fee.
